Food has always held a special place in my heart. It’s not only a source of nourishment but also a creative outlet for me. In this post, I want to share my personal journey with food, from overcoming allergies to finding a healthy relationship with eating.
During my younger years, I faced the challenge of being allergic to dairy, gluten, and other substances. As I later discovered, stress played a significant role in triggering these reactions. While this may not be the case for everyone, it was my personal experience.
I had to find creative solutions to enjoy foods that were otherwise off-limits. Back in the mid-2000s, there were no trendy vegan or gluten-free places readily available, so I had to experiment with ingredients that were accessible to me. This period of limitations sparked my creativity and opened up a whole new world of flavours and culinary exploration.
Throughout my journey, I also faced struggles with unhealthy views of food. I used to label certain foods as “bad” or “good” and even avoided social gatherings that involved meals I deemed “unhealthy.”
However, these behaviours took a toll on my health. I lost my period for eight months, which served as a wake-up call. I realised that I needed to change my approach. I shifted my focus to stress management and adopting a balanced diet, which eventually led to the return of my period and overall well-being.
Today, I prioritise intuitive eating and nourishing my body with wholesome ingredients. I’ve learned to listen to my body’s cravings and honour its needs. By doing so, I not only enjoy the food I eat but also feel good from the inside out.
Through this blog, I aim to provide recipes, tips, and insights that encourage a healthy and positive relationship with food. I’m dedicated to providing you with quick and easy recipes that will ignite your passion for cooking. I hope you will join me on this exciting journey of food discovery.
