Apple Maple Cinnamon Scrolls⁣

Like an apple pie and cinnamon scroll had a delicious baby. The moment I finished taking the photo, they all disappeared tbh 😂⁣


Serves 8| V DF⁣
Ingredients:⁣
2 cups wholemeal flour⁣
1/2 tsp sea salt⁣
1 1/2 tbsp coconut sugar⁣
1 tbsp instant dried yeast ⁣
1/4 cup warm water⁣
1/4 cup oat milk⁣
2 tbsp df butter⁣
2 tsp chia seeds⁣
1 1/2 tbsp water⁣
⁣
Apple Filling:⁣
1 apple ⁣
1/4 cup df butter⁣
1/4 cup coconut sugar⁣
2 tbsp cinnamon⁣
⁣
Maple Glaze:⁣
1 cup icing sugar⁣
1 tbsp coconut yoghurt⁣
1 tbsp maple syrup⁣
Pinch sea salt⁣

Method:⁣
1. In a small bowl mix together the yeast and warm water and allow to foam
⁣2. In another small bowl add chia seeds with 1 1/2 tbsp water and mix well and leave for 5 minutes
⁣3. In a large bowl mix milk, butter, chia egg, coconut sugar, sea salt. Add the flour and mix, pour in the yeast, and mix
⁣4. Take out the dough and on a floured surface knead for 5-10 min. Grease a large bowl and place in dough. Cover and allow to rise for 1 1/2 hours
⁣5. Remove dough from bowl and punch down the dough and punch down onto a floured surface. Roll out into a large rectangle
⁣6. Slice up an apple into cubes. In a small bowl mix the cinnamon and sugar together. Spread butter onto the dough. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture and roll on top. Sprinkle apples⁣
⁣7. Roll up the dough and pinch ends. Use string to cut dough into 8 slices
⁣8. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a baking tin and place cinnamon scrolls close together and cover for 1 hour. After they have risen, place them in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden
⁣9. In a large bowl blend together the icing ingredients until thick and creamy. Spread on top of cinnamon scrolls and enjoy!
