Creamy and Nutty Banana Tahini Porridge Recipe

Get ready to experience a bowl of creamy, nutty, and utterly delicious porridge with this Banana Tahini Porridge recipe. It’s a flavour combination that I fell in love with when I started experimenting with my own porridge creations, and it has remained a favourite ever since. The combination of creamy oats, fragrant vanilla, and the irresistible sweetness of maple syrup makes this porridge a comforting and satisfying breakfast option.

Banana Tahini Porridge

Serves 1-2 | DF, RSF
Dairy Free, Refined Sugar-Free

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup (32g) rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup (43g) steel-cut oats
  • 1 cup (255ml) oat milk
  • 1 cup (218ml) water
  • 1/2 tsp (2ml) vanilla bean paste
  • 2 tsp (12ml) maple syrup
  • Pinch of sea salt

Toppings:

  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Toasted buckwheat groats
  • Cacao nibs
  • Coconut yoghurt
  • Drizzle of tahini
  • Drizzle of maple syrup
  • Sliced banana

Method:

  1. In a pot, combine the rolled oats, steel-cut oats, oat milk, water, vanilla bean paste, maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt.
  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and the porridge reaches a creamy consistency.
  3. Once the oats are cooked to your desired texture, transfer the porridge to a bowl.
  4. Now it’s time to add the delicious toppings. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds, toasted buckwheat groats, and cacao nibs over the porridge. Add a dollop of coconut yoghurt and drizzle with tahini and maple syrup. Finally, garnish with slices of banana.
  5. Mix the toppings into the porridge or enjoy them as you go, savouring each delightful bite.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup (32g) rolled oats

  • 1/3 cup (43g) steel cut oats

  • Add all the porridge ingredients together in a pot
  • Cook for a min of 20 mins
  • Test the oats, and wait until they are soft, when the oats are just starting to form again, serve in a bowl
