I feel like there is no middle ground with hummus – you either eat a little or eat the whole thing. ⁣
⁣
I’ve made my own hummus many times – I started when I couldn’t afford to keep going through a 1kg tub of hummus a week! This smokey hummus adds such a nice touch to any sandwich or salad when infused too. ⁣

Ingredients:⁣
1 tin chickpeas⁣
2 tbsp lemon juice ⁣
1 tsp smoked paprika ⁣
1/4 tsp bicarb soda⁣
1 tbsp olive oil⁣
2 small garlic cloves⁣
2 tbsp tahini ⁣
2 tsp liquid smoke⁣
Salt and pepper to taste ⁣
⁣
Toppings:⁣
Chickpeas ⁣
Olive oil⁣
Smoked paprika ⁣
Sesame seeds⁣

⁣
Method:⁣
1. Drain the chickpeas, rinse under water and remove the skins
2. Add to a food processor, if tinned chickpeas add bicarb soda
3. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and blend until creamy
⁣4. Pour it out and store it in an air-tight container in the fridge. Enjoy!⁣
