It’s getting cooler and porridge is starting to make more sense for me. If you haven’t combined spices with chocolate before, this is your sign to do so. Such a beautiful and complex flavour combination. Ahh I love good porridge 😌

Serves 1 | V DF RSF
Ingredients:
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup oat milk
2/3 cup water
1/2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp cacao
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon

Spiced berry compote:
1 cup frozen mix berries
3 tbsp water
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp chia seeds
1/2 tbsp maple syrup

Toppings:
2 tsp vanilla cashew butter
1 tbsp coconut yoghurt
Hemp seeds

Method:
1. Prepare the mix berry compote by adding 1 cup of frozen mixed berries in a pot with other ingredients
2. Cook for 5-10 minutes until compote forms
3. Add the porridge ingredients together in a pot and add other ingredients. Cook for a min of 15 mins, slowly add water to the oats over the cooking time
4. Test the oats, wait until they are soft, when the oats are just starting to form again, serve into a bowl and add berry compote and coconut yoghurt
5. In a small dish add boiling water to the cashew butter until desired consistency, drizzle on top and sprinkle hemp seeds
